Fall Colors in Chantilly

Upon our arrival in Chantilly, our navrette (shuttle bus) passed the most gorgeous path by the parking lot. Full of amazingly vivid yellow and orange hues, and somehow void of people, I knew that the photos I had envisioned Mom snapping of me by the chateau were no longer going to happen. This was the perfect backdrop.

I got this scarf from ASOS and have been in love with it ever since. The colors are so perfectly fall (I’m big into navy and burgundy), it’s huge, and it’s warm! Despite how I draped it over my shoulder, it’s not actually a blanket scarf, but is big enough to be convincing.

I paired it with my navy hat, a simple long sleeve black tee, a grey blazer, jeans and my trusty ankle boots. I live in black booties in the fall and winter, and I’ve already worn these so much that I’ve had to get rubber bottoms reattached to the soles and heels, and an insert to keep my pinky toes from further poking through the leather.

Tip: for Paris-dwellers, if you ever need a cobbler, the ones in the basement of BHV near Hotel de Ville are super nice, very efficient, and extremely reasonably priced. I’ve had these shoes and my leather tote fixed by them multiple times and they always do great work.
