As you may have noticed, it’d been awhile since my last posts- roughly a month or so. Subsequently, you may be wondering what I’ve been doing during that time. In my defense, quite a bit has happened!
I decided closer to the beginning of the year that I would like to stay in Paris longer, hoping to find a job, but visas and work permits can be hard to wrangle for Americans, especially as France basically has the entire population of the EU as potential employees before accepting an American to do a job that could otherwise go to someone French. It makes my situation difficult, but then again, that’s never stopped me before.
Over the course of the last month, I’ve searched for jobs, found a potential internship but not sure yet if I can get a work permit for it, began photographing for FlatClub, continued writing for Pink Pangea, turned 23, and discovered how wonderful life in Paris can be when you’re in love.
Once in a blue moon, you meet someone who makes your whole world light up, who makes you question everything and validates your existence at the same time, who you know so immediately that you can love that you spend every day wondering incredulously how it’s possible that they could feel the same way about you. For those who were wondering if I’d managed to find myself a Frenchman while in Paris, let me tell you- the sexy accent and romanticism are just a bonus. Moving to Paris was one of the best things that’s ever happen to me, and meeting him was another. Forgive me if it’s a cliché, but I’m too happy to care. Springtime in Paris has been magical, and finding the right someone to share it with has made it even more so. Here’s hoping I find the means and the opportunity to be here for more springs, and in the meantime, I can’t wait to share more of both my solo adventures and those with my chéri 🙂
