So you may be wondering… what exactly is the glittering unknown?

You know that feeling you get in the pit of your stomach when you’re on a roller coaster, about to go over the drop? The same feeling you get before a big interview or meeting, the feeling just before you click “book” on a major flight purchase, the feeling that teeters on the edge of fear and anticipation. The knowledge that what you’re about to get yourself into may scare the pants off of you now, and it may not work out, but it’s a risk you know is worth taking.

That’s the glittering unknown. And that’s what this blog is about: the pursuit of a life that excites you just as much as it scares you.

In the summer of 2014, following college graduation, I booked a one-way ticket to Paris via Iceland to spend a year in la Ville Lumière working as an au pair. I thought that afterwards it would be on to the next adventure, but as many before me, I fell in love with Paris. A lot of life lessons have since transpired, but 5+ years on, I’m still here, just as transfixed by the city as always and taking every opportunity I can to explore new places.
