We drove out of Westport on a windy, chilly afternoon to go see Croagh Patrick, the very pointy, almost drawing-like mountain where people do pilgrimages and pray to Saint Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland. The saint himself watches over the incredible view of the countryside, bay and surrounding mountains as aspiring, perspiring trekkers head up the steep slopes for the adventure or the prayerful time they seek. The view was absolutely unreal- it’s hard to believe a place like this exists, and it was even harder to leave it.
